Data Collection Operator
Newlithic is looking for a Data Collection Operator to operate, test and improve our two-handed collection rigs at the Ahmedabad facility. You will wear a Newlithic gripper on each hand, record demonstration data for robot learning, check how well each task and setup performs, and work closely with our robotics engineers to improve reliability, task success and the operator experience.
What you will do
- Perform two-handed manipulation tasks at a collection station, wearing a Newlithic gripper on each hand
- Record consistent, high-quality demonstrations for robot learning, evaluation and testing
- Follow each task's protocol closely and keep repeated trials consistent
- Find, reproduce and report hardware, software and usability issues
- Help with station setup, calibration, resets and basic troubleshooting
- Give the engineering team feedback on the grippers, the stations and the workflow
- Help test new tasks, end-effectors, tools and ways of working
- Keep clear notes on task outcomes, failures, observations and ideas for improvement
What you will gain
- Daily hands-on work with the hardware and pipeline behind robot training data
- Direct exposure to data collection, quality checks and validation on dual-arm robots
What we look for
- Studying for, or recently finished, a degree in robotics, mechanical, electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Strong hand-eye coordination, patience and attention to detail
- Comfortable working hands-on with robotic hardware, on site
- Able to follow precise procedures and collect consistent data
- Interest in robotic manipulation, imitation learning or automation
- Clear communication, and the habit of writing issues down properly
Nice to have
- Experience operating robot arms, drones, RC systems, or VR or game controllers
- Familiarity with Python, ROS, robotics simulation or data collection workflows
- Experience with lab equipment, hardware testing or mechanical assembly
- Interest in dexterous manipulation, two-handed coordination or robot learning
Operators wear a mask on camera. No faces or personal details go into the datasets.
Compensation
- ₹10 lakh per year, plus bonus
Hours
8 AM to 6 PM.

Junior Software Engineer, Data Pipeline and Platform
About Newlithic Robotics
Newlithic Robotics scales robot data collection for training physical AI foundation models. We capture real commercial work: packing lines, restaurant kitchens and garment care are a few examples. We design our own hardware and also collect with partner hardware, across a range of end-effectors, and our processing pipeline converts the collected data into robot actions. Every recording is consented and quality-checked before it becomes a dataset, and we validate data quality on bimanual robot systems: two arms performing dexterous, collaborative tasks. We collect for teams training robot policies. We are headquartered in California, with our data collection facility and part of the team in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
The role
You will own the software that moves data from the field to the teams we collect for, working with the core robotics, hardware and operations team. When a data collector finishes a shift and plugs an end-effector into a workstation, your code takes over: moving terabytes of data a day faster and faster, storing it reliably, and orchestrating the processing steps that turn raw footage into training data.
You will also own our digital platforms, internal and public, and build agentic systems that automate our digital services. Your work will touch every surface people use to evaluate us.
No AI or robotics background is required. We look for a capable, self-directed engineer who builds reliable software and learns the domain on the job.
What you will do
- Build and maintain the ingest pipeline: device offload, upload confirmation, storage, and job orchestration for processing
- Integrate the robotics processing modules written by the founding team into a reliable, observable pipeline
- Implement and maintain dataset export to robot training formats
- Build tooling that helps the team deliver data faster
- Develop and maintain our digital platforms
- Work directly with the founding team and learn across hardware, software and operations
Location
Remote, anywhere in the United States.
Compensation
- $90,000 per year
- After one year of demonstrated performance, you may be offered equity through stock options in the company
What we look for
- A computer science background, at any degree level
- Strong Python, and comfort with data-heavy code, file formats and storage systems
- Hands-on experience building software with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or similar) as part of your normal workflow
- At least one real project shipped end to end, personal or professional
- Basic web development skills, enough to maintain our digital platforms
- Clear written communication for a small, distributed team
Nice to have
- Linux, Docker and cloud storage (S3 or equivalent), GPU compute and parallelization
- Exposure to video processing, computer vision tooling or ML dataset formats
- Interest in robotics, and happy to move fast and wear different hats
Send a short note and links to work you have shipped (GitHub, live projects or a write-up) to people@newlithicrobotics.com. Tell us about one thing you built with an AI agent and what you learned doing it.
